Afterwhich he was transferred in July 1862, to Company ''I'', ''the Tulip Rifle''s'' of the 3rd Arkansas. He served with the 3rd Arkansas Infantry, Hood''s Texas Brigade until his service records end in September 1863. No Further records available.

Believe he was seriously wounded in battle of Liberty Gap 24 - 26 June 1863. He was discharged [wounded]from the hospital on CMR dated 20 June 1863. He died at his home in 1865. He left a wife and small child.

Henry enlisted at Pine Bluff, Ark. on 5 May 1862. He was in battle shortly after and a report dated 5 June at Baldwin, Miss states that he lost his arms and accoutrements in action. Henry was sick in camp for a good part of the first year. There are 16 cards in his file and most deal with being present in camp. He is the husband of my 2nd cousin 4x removed.

Elias Harris Presley - Private
|
Although Elias Harris Presley was from Leake County, Mississippi, he enlisted in Captain Ross' Company at Johnsville, Arkansas in July 1861. Ross' Company became Co. I of the 2nd Arkansas Infantry Regiment. Elias was wounded at the Battle of Perryville in October 1862, wounded again at the Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863, and for a third time at the Battle of Atlanta in August 1864. He served in the 2nd Arkansas until the end of the war and was paroled at Greensboro, Georgia in May 1865. Elias had two brothers who also served during the Civil War. Andrew Jenkins Presley was a member of Co F, 33rd Mississippi Infantry, and R.C. Presley served in Co I, 39th Mississippi Infantry.
