H.H. Hall was first listed on the roll of March 4, 1862; the only other mention was April 14, 1862. He died in Knoxville, TN and is buried in a mass grave at the Confederate(Bethel) Cemetery in Knoxville.

My gg uncle Caswell Leard enlisted with the 9th Battalion Georgia Volunteers, Company A, on 4 March 1862. His brother David also enlisted with this unit at the same time. Caswell organised the Caswell Sharpshooters. He was captured by Union forces at Hooker Gap, Tennessee 24 June 1863. He died of small pox at Ft Delaware where he was a POW. The prisoners who died at Ft Delaware were buried in a mass grave now designated as Finns Point National Cemetery. There is a monument erected to the some 2,436 Confederate prisoners buried there. His name is listed on a bronze plate as Caswell Lard. Born abt. 1835 Franklin Co., Ga. Died 10 Jul 1863 Ft. Delaware. Married Delona Ann Stiefel.

He's my 3rd Great Grandfather. He's my 3rd Great Grandfather. He enlisted in Company B of the 9th Georgia Infantry on June the 12th 1861 in Summerville, Georgia. Served through the war and surrendered at the Appomattox Court House on April the 9th 1865.

Information from Civil War service records. Was present at Gettysburg. Historian from 9th Georgia Infantry insists his name was 'Coney' based on the name carved on the bone handle of a knife.

This is my GGG uncle and is in Sunset Hill Cem in Valdosta, Ga. He was wounded at gettysburg in his left foot. I'm really proud of my GGG uncle and the 9th GA

William Isaac Gardner was my ggg grandfather.

Fielding was my maternal grandmother's paternal grandfather. Because he was French there have been several misspellings of his name. I am interested in the history of his children who lived in Wolfskin 227 a part of Oglethorpe County.

T. L. B. Atkinson was killed at Gettysburg on July 2 with the Georgia 9th Infantry in Rose's Woods during the battle of the Wheat field. He was buried on the field of battle. His wife, Elizabeth, lost her husband and 4 of her 5 Bagby brothers in the Civil War. He was my great, great, great grandfather.

Last of the three McMahan brothers to be killed in the Civil War. He lasted until 1864 at Petersburg.

Joined from Walton County. Wife was Mary Jane Morgan from Greene County whom he married on March 21, 1861. He died of disease in 1862.

He was born in Bibb County, Georgia in 1829. His parents were Henry and Rachel Dannelly Chambless. He married Andisa Middlebrooks in 1856. She died, so he married her sister, Mary E. Middlebrooks in 1859. They had a daughter they called Lizzie. John enlisted as a private in the Talbot Guards on March 4, 1862. He was promoted to 4th Sergeant and surrendered at Appomattox. Lizzie's earliest memory was of her mother waking her up in the middle of the night to tell her that her father was home from the war. Mary E. also died and John married Martha A. S. Harvy in 1865. In his later years he lived in Meriwether County where he enjoyed grandchildren sitting in his lap playing with his magnificent white beard. He is buried in Meriwether County, Georgia.

He was born in 1845 in Talbot Co GA. He enlisted on June 11, 1861, wounded at Knoxville TN on November 29, 1863. Captured at Middlebrook TN on December 5, 1863, he died on January 1, 1864 of complications from a thigh amputation.

Mustered out on May 6th 1863, transferred to Company H Georgia 37th Infantry Regiment on May 6th 1863.

Captured at the campaign in Knoxville (Fort Sanders) December 1863.

Son of Mathew & Sarah J. (FLETCHER) McCRARY. Born on 10 AUG 1827 in Talbot County, Georgia. Died in Richmond, VA Confederate Hospital on 8 Apr 1862. He had just enlisted on the 4th of March. Burial location unknown.

Edmund is my 3rd greatgrandfather. He joined on May 14, 1862 at LaFayette GA. He was Wounded and cap- tured at Gettysburg, Pa. July 2, 1, 863. POW at Point Lookout Maryland, Died at Hammond General Hospital, Point Lookout, Md. February 26, 1864 . I recently found in my attic 2 letters sent home to his wife both dated May 1863. 1 is still where you can read it the other not great. I would love to have any other information on him as this is about all I know. The spelling Beaird is correct spelling most information i seen the spelling is Beard Thanks

This is my great grandfather. When he returned he was a sargeant. He passed away in 1965. On Ancestry he has a Film No. of M226 roll 41. I would love to see if there are any pictures of his unit and if he was wounded since he did not live that long once he was home.

Enlisted on June 6, 1861 in Quitman, Georgia at the age of 25 as a Corporal. His 1st cousin Joseph Francis McCann also enlisted in the same company three days later on the 9th. Jeremiah is my 1st Cousin 5 times removed but was my 3rd great grandfather Joseph Francis McCann's first Cousin as mentioned. Jeremiah contracted double pneumonia and died on January 20, 1862 at the General Hospital in Front Royal, Virginia.

Enlisted as a private on June 9, 1861 in Quitman, Georgia at the age of 18. He is my third great grandfather. He was appointed Corporal sometime after he enlisted. He was wounded in the battle of Petersburg and had his right leg amputated on July 22, 1864 at Jackson Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was sent home to Thomas County, Georgia on wounded furlough and would not return to service for the rest of the war. He got married when he came home and went on to have 13 children. He also became a Primitive Baptist minister when he was 55 years old. Buried at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Barwick, Brooks County, Georgia.

Enlisted at Quitman, GA 6 Jun 1861.

Died before 5 Dec 1862. Buried in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cem, Bulloch Co, GA.

Enlisted June 10, 1861. Appointed 3rd Sergeant December 1862. Discharged at Savannah, Ga. October 24, 1863. Enlisted as a private in Co. F, 22d Battn. GA Heavy Artillery May 20, 1864. Roll for October 1864, last on file, shows him absent, sick. Died 1898.

Died in camp near Manassas, VA September 8, 1861.

Official CWSR list as AWOL last roll call. I have in my possesion a letter found in a coffee can belonging to my Grandmother a letter written by Confederate Doctor sending him home to Georgia to recover from illness. He died at home 3 months later,which is difference in dates of letter and date died on Grave Stone. I also have in my possession a letter Jackson wrote home from Richmond describing what he has went thru prior to writing the letter.
