Amiziah Garrison Gossard - Private
Amiziah Gossard was married to Susan Wheeler. He was my gguncle, a brother to Philip Jackson Gossard, my gggrandfather. Amiziah received a head wound and lay on the battlefield 24 hrs. I have a photo of his headstone which is really unique. It shows his military photo quite clearly, which is enclosed in the top of the monument under glass. Amaziah also had a GAR post named after him...Amzi Garrison Post, Herman Nebraska.

Jefferson H Gossard - Private
Jefferson Gossard was my gguncle. His brother, Philip Jackson Gossard was my gggrandfather. They served together with brothers Alvin and Amiziah and in-laws, Archibald and Nicholas Bovee in this unit. All of them would have bought the Henry Repeater rifle using $50 of their own cash. The rifle is what is thought to have saved them at Alatoona Pass Georgia when they were greatly outnumbered. Joined July 25, 1861 and discharged honorably July 25, 1864.

Philip Jackson Gossard - Private
Philip Jackson Gossard was my gggrandfather. He survived the war and attended many of the units GAR reunions. He was a speaker for one of them. I have a very poor family photo with him included but could possibly identify him in other photographs . If anyone has a photo or other information on him, Gossard''s or Bovee''s who served in this unit, please contact me.
