David Harrison Marple was my great-grandfather. He served in the 57th IL from 20 Feb. 1864 until 07 July 1865 when the war ended. He took part in the Battle of Alatoona, GA. and was a member of Ferris Post 309, GAR, Princeton, IL. He was married to Sarah Isabelle (Fox) Marple. They are buried at Searl Ridge Cemetery, Princeton, IL.
