Joseph Milton Gard - Private |
Joseph Milton Gard was born 11 April 1838 in Wabash County, Illinois and was the son of Justus Gard and Anna Oman. He married Emily White shortly before the war on 18 Nov 1860 in Wabash County, Illinois. He enlisted as a Private on 09 October 1861 and was added to Company I, 66th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 25 November 1861. Joseph Milton Gard died on 07 July 1862 in Corinth, Mississippi. He is buried in Corinth National Cemetery at Corinth, Alcorn County, Mississippi in Section A - Grave Number 2234. He and Emily had one daughter, Rose Ann born in 1861. Emily (White) Gard [1843-1904] was married 2nd to William Washington Trexler on 04 March 1864 in Jasper County, Illinois. She died in Linn County, Oregon. She and William W. Trexler were the parents of 7 children. Joseph Milton Gard's only daughter, Rose Ann, married Perry Amos Lambird on 22 Feb 1880 in Jasper County, Illinois.
