Regiment engaged in Virginia at The Wilderness (5-7 May 1864); Laurel Hill (8 May 1864); Po River (10 May 1864); Spottsylvania (12 May 1864); Ny River (21 May 1864); North Anna (23 May 1864); Jericho Mills (24 May 1864); Noel1s Turn (26 May 1864); Totopotomoy Creek (30 May 1864); Magnolia Swamp (1 Jun 1864); Bethesda Church (2 Jun 1864); Petersburg (18 Jun 1864); & Weldon Run (21 Aug 1864); regiment thence sent back to Michigan via Washington DC, reorganized with additional recruits and sent to the western theater where engaged at Decatur, AL (28-30 Oct 1864); New Market, AL (20-19 Nov 1864); & Murfreesboro, TN (30 Nov-20 Dec 1864); transferred to Texas via New Orleans in June 1865. While in Texas they were subjected to long and severe marches in the hot climate, including a 175-mile march to San Antonio. Remained on provost duty in Texas until discharged.

Mustered out at Houston, Texas May 26, 1866. Died February 17, 1914 Novesta Township, Tuscola County, Michigan.

Confined at Richmond, Virginia, June15, 1864. Sent to Andersonville, Georgia. Admitted to camp hospital, for diarrhea July 8, 1864, died same day. Buried in grave #3015 Andersonville, Georgia.
