Oliver Norris Wilds - Private
|
Pvt. O.N. Wilds was wounded on April 6th, 1862 at Shiloh, Tn. He was discharged due to disability from his terrible wound. He was shot through the calf muscle of his right leg. He married Barbara Koerber in June of 1862 while still on crutches. After the war he became a successful planter and businesman. He was also President of The City of Natchez Board of Advisors for many years. He died at his home in 1924 of general senility at the age of 88 years. His home was on Homochito Street. He is buried in the Natchez City Cemetary.

Daniel, Walter Raleigh, Captain Old Company A, New Company D&F, 10th Mississippi Infantry
Enlisted as a 1st Sergeant in (Old) Company A, 10th Mississippi Infantry on an unspecified date, but probably at its inception on March 21, 1861. He reenlisted as a 3rd Lieutenant at Pensacola, Florida in January 1862 in the reorganized Company D, 10th Mississippi. The regiment was formally reorganized on March 15, 1862 in Corinth, MS. He was wounded at Shiloh, Tennessee on April 6 and again at Munfordsville, Kentucky on September 14, 1862. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on an unspecified date and to Captain of the Port Gibson Rifles (New Co. F) at Jackson, Mississippi. He was wounded at Atlanta, Georgia (On Lick Skillet Road leading to Chattahoochie River) on July 28, 1864. No further information.

Daniel Morrison was a member of (old) Co. G, 10th Mississippi Infantry and served as 3rd Lieutenant and 2nd Lt. He mustered as 3rd Lt. in Capt. George N. Miller's Co. (Rankin Rifles), Mississippi Volunteers on March 27, 1861 at Brandon by Capt. W. Yerger. The term was to be 1 year. He was appointed Regimental Commissary & Quartermaster on September 1, 1861 by Col. R.A. Smith and re-appointed by Brigadier General Gladden November 20, 1861.

Lewis was 24 when he enlisted in the [New} Co H 10th Regt. Miss. Infantry on 21 Aug 1862 in his home county of Neshoba, Miss. On Jan 23 his entire Company re-enlisted for the war. During the Atlanta Campaign he was wounded at probably Ezra Church and furloughed [wounded] to his home in Neshoba. He died there 18 Aug . 1864 as a result of wounds. He is the husband of my 2nd cousin 5 x removed. She remarried. Lewis's father was a Physician and served as a Medical Officer in the Confederacy. They are buried in the same cemetery. Deo Vindice
