Company A
Robert W. McCullock
- Colonel
From 1890 Census: 'Rank: Colonel; Company: A; Regiment: 2nd Missouri Cavalry; Enlistment Date: 15 Mar 1861; Discharge Date: 10 Jan 1865; Served: 4 years, 11 months, and 25 days; Post Office Address: Pisgah; Comments: Gun shot wound, lung, confederate soldier.'

This was my grandmother's great uncle. My grandmother's grandfather on her father's side (brother of Col. McCullock) was Thomas George, a Captain in the 52nd Missouri Infantry, Company I. During the Civil War, Thomas L. George commanded a company of Home Guards and bore the title of captain.

My grandfather's grandfather was Thomas Shirley. There are references to him as being a sergeant in the 1st MO Volunteer Infantry Co. F (Confederate)

He was brevetted to the rank of Lieutenant. At Vicksburg his unit was consolidated with the 6th Infantry and was at the Stockade Redan, site of the heaviest fighting before the siege.

My grandfather's grandfather was Reverend William K. Johnson, a Corporal in the 10th Missouri Volunteer Infantry, Company K (Union).
