James Harris - Private

James Harris was my great grandmother's brother. Her name was Harriet Harris. Both were from Henderson, New York. His parents were Hiram and Lodicia Clark Harris also of Henderson, New York.
He was born in July 1,1840 in Henderson, New York. He was killed in the second Bull Run battle or possibly in the Cedar Mountain battle. I have 2 conflicting reports. He died on 09/14/1862.

This is my ggggrandfather. He was imprisoned in Andersonville and lived to get out. I have his firsthand account of his time there and attempted escape and recapture. Very interesting reading!
