Adolphus was born in Greensboro, Guilford Co. NC 10 Nov 1838. He was abt 22 y/o when he enlisted at Fort Macon, Greensboro 20 April 1861. He was slightly wounded at Battle of Bristo Station and given a 30 day wounded furlough. He was a mechanic and was transferred to the Confederate Navy on 1 April 1864. He was captured near Richmond and imprisoned in LIbby Prison. He has 25 cards in his archival file. He died 7 June 1906. He was the father in law of my 4th cousin 3 x removed.

Jabez was 22 when he first joined Co H 1st NC Artillery and Engineers. Enlisted at Newport, Carteret Co. NC on 1 Feb 1862. Assigned to Fort Macon on Bouge Banks. The Fort was overrun and he was paroled. Most because they had lost their artillery were re assigned to Co B 27th Regiment NC Inf. Their first fight was at New Bern, NC. He was in over 20 major battles. God Rest his Soul. He was the Father in Law to the wife of my 3rd cousin 2 x removed.

James was a 36 year old farmer residing in Lenoir County, North Carolina. Along with his brother John, he enlisted in the 27th N.C. Infantry Regiment on the 27th of April, 1861.On 20 June 1861 he enlisted in Company 'D' of the 27th Regiment. He was engaged with the regiment in the battles around New Bern, North Carolina in 1862. He was mustered out of service on 16 July 1862.He re-enlisted in the 1st Local Defense Infantry Regiment as a Private on 17 November 1863 in Co. 'H'. He participated in the battles of Haddock's Crossroads, N.C.; Charles City, Va.;Plymouth, N.C.; Greenville, N.C.; and Washington, N.C. Mustered out on 18 Jan. 1864, he was transferred to the 67th N.C. Infantry Regiment, Co. 'H' where he ended the War.
