4th Ohio Infantry
Company Unknown
Samuel Colflesh - Sergeant
Samuel was initially enlisted in the 90 day regiment of the fourth. When the three year regiment was formed he reenlisted with this unit.

There are conflicting records that show he was a sergeant with the 90 day regiment and a private with the three year regiment and a another record showing he rose to the rank of sergeant of the 3 year regiment. I'm still researching this issue.

Samuel was killed on May 10 1864. When elements of the Second Corps attacked Laurel Hill just two days before the big attack at the 'Muleshoe salient' during the battle of Spotsylvania.
