Phillip Knorre - 1st Sergeant
Phillip Knorre was my husband''s greatgrandfather. He had only been in America a few short years when the war broke out. He lived in Tipp City ( Tippicanoe, Ohio ) at the time of the war. I have also researched this regiment for over 14 years if anyone else is interested. Thanks, Linda Cooper

John L Minnich - Private
John enlisted in august 1862 and trained at Camp Piqua, After a few weeks moved by train to Cincinnati and then to Kentucky to help kirby Smith Army that has entered Kentucky, John was captured and later exchanged. His unit fought in the Battle of Stones River, Chickamagua and with Sherman to Atlanta. He was also with Sherman to the sea and the Battle of Bentonville in North carolina. He lived in Clark Co., Ohio until his death in 1916 and buried in the Donnelsville, Ohio Cemetery. His Father was also John Minnich and Sabina Overpeck.

Andrew was a stone mason from Cumberland Co., PA living in Champaign Co., Ohio when he enlisted at age 42 with his brother, Samuel. He served only a few months as he gave his life to his country on 15 November 1862 in Louisville, KY.

Samuel George Cramer - Private
Samuel was a stone mason from Cumberland Co., PA living in Champaign Co., Ohio when he enlisted at age 39 with his brother, Andrew. He served throughout the war and participated in the Grand Review in Washington D. C. in 1865 before returning to Urbana, Ohio. He later moved, in about 1882, with his family, including several brothers and their families, to Custer Co., Nebraska.
