Henry sustained a gunshot wound to the right chest at the Battle of Overholtz Creek on 4 Dec 1864. He had begun to recover but died on 11/12 Feb 1865. He is interred in Stones River National Cemetery, plot 5275.

George Campbell enlisted on August 1, 1864 and was mustered into Company E, 174th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 18, 1864. He was 30 years old. He was commissioned a Captain of that Company on September 19, 1864. He was mustered out of service on June 28, 1865 at Charlotte, North Carolina. George Campbell's brother, Edward Campbell, also served during the Civil War.

He enlisted 26 August 1864, age 34, at Millwood, Guernsey Co., OH., and was described as born Frederick Co, MD, a farmer, brown eyes, black hair, OK and dark complexion, 5”10” . Discharged June 29, 1865, Campbell Hospital, DC. Civil War Invalid Pension file, No. 636.743, Cert. 696.377, John Perl, Co. G, 174 Ohio Infantry, National Archives, Washington DC: contains affidavit from Thomas McFarland, Sr. and Thomas Jr., of Guernsey Co. OH, postoffice Barnsville, Belmont Co., OH that they were acquainted with John about 2 years prior to his enlistment and 2 years after his return.

I found in some old records a discharge certificate for my grandfather, Daniel Montgomery Eddy where he mustered in on Sept 13, 1884 for one year and mustered out June 28, 1885, the name on the discharge was Daniel Eddy without the middle name. It says the certificate was issued Jan 4, 1918 as per provisions of the act of congress approved July 1902
