Morgan Donahue - Private   
Morgan was born in Chesterfield Co. SC in 1839. He was about 23 y/o when he enlisted at Cheraw, in aforesaid county on 12 April 1862 as a Pvt. in Capt James I Kelly's Co. SC light artillery. Assigned to Coit's Battalion of Artillery...Also served under Mosley's Arty. He has 9 cards in his archival file. Battles Kelly's Store, Suffock Campaign, Battery Huger, Drewry's Bluff, Petersburg Siege, & Carolina Campaign. He is listed as a POW at the end of the war..I found no documentation that would shed light on that event. He died in 1912 and is buried under a Confederate Stone at Rocky Creek Church, Jefferson Co. SC. He is in my ancestry family tree data base.

Daniel H. Hawkins - Private   
Pvt. Daniel H. Hawkins was from the Antioch Community of Darlington County SC. He was 36 years old when he joined Capt. Kelly's Company [Chesterfield Art'y] South Carloina Light Art'y. He enlisted on 25 August 1861 at Cheraw SC. Formerly Ciot's Company Light Art'y., SC Vol's. He also served in Mosely's Batt's Art'y.
He was the husband of Martha Byrd who was the dau. of William Byrd III of the Antioch Community.
His service took him to Virginia where he suffered from Inf. Febis. He was hospitalized at Episcopal Church Hospital at Williamsburg, Va. on 25 Aug. 1862 and returned to duty on 5 Sept 1862. Daniel was paroled with his unit at Goldsbourgh, NC on 1 May 1865 after the surrender of Confederate forces by Joseph E. Johnson.

Isaac Ousley - Corporal   
Isaac was from rural Chesterfield County SC. He was abt. 28 when he enlisted at Cheraw,South Carolina on 25 Aug 1861 as a Pvt. in Capt James J Kelly's Co. [ Chesterfield ] Light Artillery. This unit was also known as James C Coit's Co and Mosley's Co. Battn Arty. He served honorably thru the war and surrendered with his unit on 1 May 1865 when General Joseph E Johnson surrendered at Greensboro NC. He is related to me by a distant marriage to my 4th cousin.

Elisha B Smith - Private   
Elisha was born in Chesterfield Co. SC 29 June 1844. He enlisted at Cheraw in same county on 25 Aug 1861 in Capt. J.C. Coit's Battery of light artillery, Kelly's Co and also served in Mosley's Battery. It is 200 miles to rendezvous as the artillery training camp was in the Columbia SC area. On 1 April 1864 he is absent on a leave of indulgence. He is in the hospital for a fever. He was on detached duty from Nov 1864 to Feb 1865 at Petersburg. He was captured and paroled at Greensboro, NC on 1 May 1865. He enlisted on the same day with his brother Hugh. Battles: Deserted House, Kelly's Store on the Suffolk Campaign, Battery Huger, Drewry's Bluff, and Petersburg Siege. He died d8 June 1925 and is buried in Ferguson H Smiths Cem. in Chesterfield Co. SC.

Hugh Moore Smith - Artificer   
Hugh was born in Chesterfield Co. SC in 1829. Enlisted by Capt. Coit at Cheraw, Chesterfield Co. SC 25 Aug 1861 and mustered at Camp Butler near Columbia, SC on 11 Oct 1861 it is 200 miles to rendezvous. Unit also known as Kelly's Co Light Artillery & Moseley's Battn: Arty.
He was assigned as a hospital nurse at the General Hospital at Portsmouth Va on 31 Oct 1863. Battles: Deserted House aka Kelly's Store, Suffolk Campaign, Battery Huger, Drewry's Bluff, Petersburg Siege, Carolina Campaign. He was stricken by Typhoid and was a patient at Espicopal Church Hosp at Williamsburg Va 1 thru 21 Sept. He survived the invasion and is buried `Smith Family Cem.Ruby, Chesterfield Co. SC.

Clement L Vick - Private   
Clement was born 22 Feb 1844 in Chesterfield Co. SC. he enlisted in Kelly's Co. SC Light Artillery which was assigned to J.C. Coit's Battalion of Artillery. He has 20 cards in his archival file. He is out sick at home once. In Oct 1863 he is detailed to the Weldon Railroad. His unit saw action at Kelly's Store, Swift Creek, Battery Huger, Drewry's Bluff, Petersburg Siege and the Carolina Campaign. He survived the Northern Aggression and died 19 Oct 1901.

Levi was 41 years old when he enlisted at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co. SC on 5 Aug 1861. It was 200 miles to his rendezvous. His company saw heavy action in Virginia, North Carolina and the Carolina Campaign. He served honorably throughout the invasion. An honorable man & devoted soldier. May God rest his soul.
