H B Hendrix is my great great grandfather from Abner Creek area, SC. Henry enlisted in Company C, 22nd South Carolina Infantry on January 10, 1862 at Columbia, South Carolina. He was captured near Petersburg, Virginia on July 30, 1864 and imprisoned at Point Lookout prison, Maryland on August 5, 1864. He was transferred to Elmira prison, Elmira, New York on August 8, 1864 and died at Elmira on March 29, 1865.

On January 10, 1862 William was appointed as Captain of Company C, 22nd South Carolina Infantry. On May 5, 1862 he was dropped from the company. He then enlisted as a Private in the same company and regiment on September 8, 1863 at Columbia, South Carolina. He was captured near Petersburg, Virginia on July 30, 1864 and imprisoned at Point Lookout prison, Maryland on August 5, 1864. He was transferred to Elmira prison, Elmira, New York on August 8, 1864. He was transferred back to Point Lookout on October 18, 1865 for exchange but died at Point Lookout on October 27, 1864.

Pitts Elijah Andrew, Sr. was a Private in the 22nd S.C. Infantry, Co. D. and joined the war on Jan.10, 1862.
It is not known at this time if Elijah Andrew Pitts returned home after his year was up or if he was with his unit when they surrendered at Appomattox Court House, Virginia on April 9, 1865. After the war Elijah moved his family to Bartow Co. Ga., where he became a Baptist Minister. Very little information was in his War Records. Elijah was son Of Charles C. Pitts JR of Pickens Co., SC

William Kelley Cook

William Kelley Cook served the Confederacy during the civil war. In December 1861 he joined Company E, 22nd Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers. He served in this unit until April 9, 1865, under the command of Captain Mile Hilton. He was discharged at Appomattox, Virginia April 9, 1865. This data was taken from his widow's application for South Carolina civil war pension dated September 13, 1919.

This document shows that William Kelley Cook and Sarah Jane (McKibben) Cook were married on December 31, 1856. It shows that Sarah Jane resided at Route 1, Osceola, Lancaster County, South Carolina since her birth in 1841. It also shows the death date of William to be June 1896.
