|
He also served in Company C of the 9th South Carolina Infantry and in Comapny K of the 6th South Carolina Infantry. He enlisted on 8 April, 1861 and was wounded, captured and died in Williamsburg, Virginia on 5 May 1862.
John B. and five of his brothers served in the war. William Martin Tobias, Samuel Robert Tobias, Charles Henry Tobias, Isacc Nelson Tobias, and Thomas Noah Tobias.
John B. and Thomas Noah died in the war.

Abner C Byrd - Private
|
Abner enlisted in Capt. James L. Coker's Company 2nd SC Vol's on 29 June 1862. This unit later became Co. G. 9th SC Infantry. He also served in Company E. 6th SC Infantry. He was wounden in the Right wrist while with Beatton's Brigade in fighting in Northern Va. Surrendered with his unit at Appomattox.

Evander enlisted at Darlington SC in Capt.James L. Cokers Company 2nd SC Vol's. This Company became Co. G. 9 SC Infantry. Evander also served in Co. E 6th SC Infantry. He was severely wounded in the thighat Seven Pines May 31, 1862. He surrendered with his unit at Appomattax.

Peter C. Byrd a 26 y/o farmer joined as a Private , Capt.James L. Cokers Company 2nd SC Vol's. which later became Co. G. 9th SC Infantry Regt. He enlisted at Darlington, SC on 29 June 1861. and mustered in on 10 July 1861 at Ridgevile, SC. Peter died in hospital at Richmond Va. on 5 Oct. 1861. Location of grave unknown.

|
Pvt. Wesley J. Byrd joined Capt. James L. Cokers Company 2nd SC Vol's on 29 June 1861. This unit became Co. G 9th SC Infantry. He was 19 y/o. He mustered in at Ridgefield SC on 10 July 1861. He was wounded and given a Disability Certificate by the surgeon on 23 Oct. 1861. He was paid $25.00 for clothing and $60:61 cents for duty pay.

|
Darius was 21 y/o when he enlisted on 29 June 1861 in James L. Cokers Company 2nd Regt. South Carolina Vol's. He died on 29 Nov. 1861 five months later of pneumonia-Typhoid in the South Carolina Hosp. in Warren Springs Va.

John enlisted on June 29.1861 at Darllington, SC. Capt James L. Coker 2nd SC Vol's. I find him on the rolls of Co. G. 9th SC Infantry. The records to not indicate what happened but apparently he was seriously injured as he was Discharge by Surgeons Certificate 13 July, 1861.

Samuel Edwin Moore - Sergeant
|
Samuel has 2 CMR's in his archival file. He was 23 years old when he enlisted 29 June 1861 in James L Coker's Co. 2nd Regt SC Vol's. These soldiers saw duty in the 5th, 6th 9th SC Infantry Regiments and some in [Palmetto Sharp Shooters] He was admitted at the General Hosp at Orange Court House Va. for pneumonia. He survived the war and died in 1905. He is related to me by marriage.
