Source: The History of Clarksville and Old Red River County, Chapter XI. Company F, Whitefields Legion of Texas Cavalry. W. N. Bryant returned home on furlough near the close of the war and was killed in Red River County in 1867 by a party charged with theft of horse.

R. A. Wolf returned home after the close of the war and died at his home near Annona, Texas, March 26, 1900. In 1921 his wife filed for a Confederate Widow's Pension. In this file, his records from the War Department show that 'R. A. Wolfe, Priv. Co. F. 27 Texas Cav. (Whitfield's Legion) CSA, enlisted March 7, 1862. Company Muster Roll for May and June, 1864 (last on file) show him present. No prisoner of war record. '
