John C. Corker of Hanover Co. Va., is a Brother-in-law of George Washington Grimes,CSA, William Thomas Grimes, CSA and Joseph S. Grimes,CSA. John served the Ashland Artillery also.

My great great grandfather, John Washington Durvin, joined the Hanover Artillery on May 21, 1861. When this unit was disbanded in October 1862 , he transferred to the Amherst Artillery. He was born about 1820 in Louisa County, VA and lived in Hanover County. He married Mary Catherine Gunnell in 1841.

George Washington Grimes of Hanover Co. Va. also served the Ashland Artillery and the 62nd Mounted Infantry.

Joseph S. Grimes is my Great Grandfather of Hanover Co. Va. He also served the Ashland Artillery.

William Thomas Grimes is my Great Grand Uncle of Hanover Co. Va. He also served the Ashland Artillery and the 11th Va.
