I recently located details of my maternal great-grandfather. He was born Dec. 29, 1839, enlisted Apr. 25, 1861, mustered out 12 August 1861, died Oct. 31, 1908, and is buried in Wethersfield, CT, Ancient Cemetery, Plot 3. He reportedly served in the 3rd Connecticut Volunteers Company B, although his gravestone reports he was in the Heavy Artillery.
