Transferred from Company A, 60th Infantry Regiment Georgia on 26 November 1862. Promoted to 6th Sergeant in January 1863. Promoted to 5th Sergeant in February 1863. Promoted to 4th Sergeant in March 1863. Promoted to Junior 2nd Lieutenant on 25 January 1864. Killed on 10 March 1865 near Fayetteville, NC.

'The following named privates are mutually transferred each to the others command, all parties consenting, provided no expense to the Confederate States be thereby incurred: J.B. Barfield, Company A, Tenth Battalion Georgia Volunteers; A.B. Edge, Company B, Twenty-second Battalion Georgia Artillery.' Jesse Bud Barfield Obituary: From The Butler Herald: Volume 29, # 11, January 17, 1905 J. B. Barfield died at his home on Monday. Had a stroke of paralysis. Was 65 years of age. Leaves wife and 5 sons and 2 daughters, Messrs. William, Berry, John, Thomas, and Monroe Barfield. Miss Mary Eliza[Liza] and Mrs. Isiah[Isaac] Barfield. JB Barfield was brother-in-law to William H Oliver (Co.A, 10th Batn GA Inf) who married sister Ada Barfield.

After resigning as an officer of 'Brier Creek Volunteers' Militia, former 1st Lt. George Washington Mobley became a member of Company C, 22nd Regiment, Georgia Heavy Artillery. He enlisted 20 April 1864 in Decatur, Georgia by Major Andrews, and was paroled 3 May 1865 in Greenboro, North Carolina. He was born 17 Aug 1824 in Burke County, GA and died about 1880 in Burke County. He was a Freemason.
