James Bob Bentley was killed at the Battle of Chancellorsville. His date of birth was November 8, 1839 and his date of death was May 3, 1863. James Bob also had two brothers who fought in the Civil War. They were 1st Lt. Isaac/Isaac Bentley, Co. H, 1st Georgia Calvary, and John Martin Bentley, Co. A, 35th Georgia Infantry. All three brothers are buried in the Kilgore Family Cemetery in Tallapoosa, Haralson Co., GA. James Bob was my great, great uncle.

John Martin Bentley was killed in the Battle of Cedar Run. His date of birth was August 5, 1841 and his date of death was August 9, 1862. John had two brothers, who also fought in the Civil War for the CSA. His brothers were 1st Lt. Issac/Isaac Bentley, Co. H, 1st Georgia Calvary, and Pvt. James Bob Bentley, Co. Wilson is actually list as 5Th Sargent And was KIA July 3 at Gettysburg He also had a brother in the 40th Co. G and other brother with the Boutort Artillery.

Wounded in hand by gunshot 12/13/1862 in the 1st Battle of Fredericksburg, VA. He was Killed In Action in the Battle of The Wilderness, VA. The 35th Infantry Regiment was organized at Atlanta, Georgia, and mustered into Confederate service at Richmond, Virginia, in October, 1861. The men were recruited in the counties of Troup, Haralson, Bartow, Walton, Chattooga, Harris, and Gwinnett. Bluford and all 6 of his brothers were Confederate soldiers; Lee died at Vickburg, MS

great great grandson of Simeon Miller

This is my Grandfather; wounded by bullet above right ear at Fredricksburg,hospitalized at Richmond; fought at Chancellorsville, Gettysburg; captured at Petersburg; in Federal prison at Point Lookout Maryland until end of war. Returned to Hogansville, Ga., married and moved to north Louisiana. He died in 1919 and is buried in the Weldon Cemetery in Union Parish, Louisiana.

Present on many company muster rolls in receipt of pay/clothing in 1863, 1864, 1865. Pardoned at Appomattox 9 April 1865. Born 1835. Died 1895.

Simeon died in VA within a month of enlisting in 1862. He also had 2 brothers who served in 35th GA CO D. Their names are Noah and John Warren. The info on their deaths is contradictory and spotty.

At Fredricksburg was seriously injured and lost his left leg. Fought at many major battles Seven Pines, Mannasas, Raid into New Jersey(never heard of it but a source says it happened) Harpers Ferry, Fredricksburg, Seven days battle around Richmond. Not a dircet relative but a great cousin or uncle. Source is Memoirs of Georgia Volume 1. According to memoir his great grandfather was James McDaniel, his grandfather William McDaniel, and father James McDaniel of Gwinnett born in 1812 in South Carolina. Source says Great Grandfather from Ireland and settled in Virginia later moving to South Carolina. I am related to his grandfather who was also the founder of Lilburn.

My great grand-father was the company G wagoner. 'I suspect' he being an older soldier [35] and most of the others being around 22- 24, was given the job of driving the company wagon. It carried the common property. Maybe he was unable to keep up. So many didn't come home. This job perhaps enabled him to come home and father my grand-daddy---my dad--&--Me. I'm only speculating. If you know otherwise let me know...He never owned a slave but went to war because his neighbors, friends, and relatives went. The right thing to do!!!! 'This, I'm not speculating'... I'm proud to be called 'Jeff' as he was.

Private Benjamin F. Thomason was my ggguncle. He was in the 35th Reg. Co. G (aka Walton Sharpshooters). He was KIA Aug.30, 1862 at the Battle of 2nd Manassas. His body was never recovered. He was 22 years old.

Gideon was my ggguncle. He and younger brother Benjamin as well as 5 Dial family cousins joined The Walton Sharpshooters on September 21, 1861. Reported AWOL on February 28, 1865.He survived the war.
