2nd Illinois Cavalry

Possibly went by the name Clarence. Younger brother of Walter C. Trott of the same unit. Enlisted March 21st, 1864. Died on duty at Baton Rouge, La. on September 15th, 1864. No cause of death known. Born in Maine, and a resident of McClean County, Ill.

Enlisted in August 1861. Served until November 1865. Native of Maine, he lived in McClean County. Brother of Isaac C. Trott of same company.

Enlisted as a Private on 4 January 1864. Promoted to Corporal. Mustered out on 22 November 1865 at San Antonio, TX.

Seek info. Initally, the father and 2 brothers had enlisted in the 1st Reg Cav Missouri State Militia in 1862. One month later the father dies, and the 2 sons deserted to later enlist in the 2IL US Cav Co. K.

Taken Prisoner, and taken to CSA Prison. Parolled in 1864 and re-enlisted into Infantry.
