92nd Illinois Infantry

Nate served as a drummer with Wilder's Lightning Brigade of mounted infantry from age 15 to 18 and mustered out in 1865.

Captured 4-23-1864 Relased 5-1-1865, was held at Andersonville. Died 4-24-1881 at Newton, Harvey county, Kansas, buried Greenwood cemetery Newton, Kansas.

James mustered out in '65 in Chicago. His Brother also served with the 92nd and I think the brother was a Master Sgt. My mother has more info, when I get it from her, I will post

Born May 1, 1843 in Lebanon County, Penn. to Daniel and Susanna Hoover Kingery. He married Sarah Eshelman in 1869 and they had two children. At the time of his death on May 31, 1928, Andrew was predeceased by his wife and his two daughters, Effie and Andrew.

4th great- grandfather, born about 1834 in Pennsylvania and probably died May 4th 1909 probably in Wisconsin.

Nathaniel was born in Wilson, NY, became a school teacher in Ogle Co. Illinois. He joined up with the 92nd Co. K in 1862. He was a regimental postmaster and was captured with mail while on way to regiment from division headquarters in August of 1864. He survived Andersonville Prison, then was taken to Florence where he was exchanged. He was honorably discharged near the end of the war. He won a homestead in Fairbury, Nebraska and in September of 1865 settled there. He became the first county surveyor. He died in 1907

Alexander was listed as a Wagoner or Wagoneer. It seems to be a promotion from Private? His last name was McClain and he changed it to McLain because there were too many McClain's,this fact was told to me by my Grandmother (Her Father).I would like to hear from anyone with any knowledge about him other then what I can find on the internet, Thank you!
