Charles Smith Beath moved to Escanaba, Michigan and lived there many years. He spent his last ten years of life in Los Angeles and was buried in an unmmarked grave, until last month, I was able to secure a veteran's headstone.

Resident of Montgomery County, Illinois (but a native of North Carolina) where he enlisted in Co. B, 117th Illinois Vol. Inf. in September of 1862. He took part in the Battle of Nashville, December 15-16, 1864, but died of, at this writing, unspecified causes on December 22nd.

He was the son of Oromel and Harriet Maffett Curtiss. He was born 18 Feb 1842 in Trenton, Clinton Co, Illinois. He died in Danville, Vermilion Co, Illinois at the VA hospitial on 14 Nov 1918. His later years, he lived there until his death.

James Jones enlisted as a private in Capt. Andrew J. Randall's Company E, 117th Illinois Infantry on 19 Sep 1862. On 5 Feb 1864, he was captured in Clinton, Hinds County, Mississippi and sent to Andersonville Prison. There, he perished due to scurvy.

Served three full years and lived into his 90s.

Discharged on disability; later served in 144th to guard prisoners.

When Hecke enlisted in the Army on August 14, 1862, he was living in Monroe Co., Illinois. He was mustered into service on September 19, 1862. He was mustered out on August 5, 1865.

Enlisted as a Private on 16 January 1862. Enlisted in Company I, 117th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 16 January 1862. Died on 27 May 1864 in Vicksburg, MS. Suffered from Chronic Diarrhea.

Enlisted as a Private on 12 August 1862. Enlisted in Company I, 117th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 19 September 1862. Died Company I, 117th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 28 February 1863 in Memphis, TN.
