This is my great great great grand father.. Fought on the Union side. I have a few pictures of him, and am searching for more, possibly a group photo of his entire company

This was my great grandfather who came up from Alabama to live in deep Southern Ill. He didn't like the South and when a few other families he knew were heading north he decided to leave his family behind and travel north. He left behind several brothers and sisters. When the war broke out one brother traveled north to fight with him then returned to the south after the war was over.

Pvt.Thomas Sanderson was killed on May 11, 1863 near Greenville, Mississippi, while his regiment was being transported to Vicksburg via riverboats. He was the only fatality that day when the riverboats were fired upon from both sides of the Mississippi River by Southern guerillas. There were 19 other Union soldiers wounded during the exchange of gunfire. Pvt. Sanderson's last name is misspelled in the Adjadent Generals Report as Sanders.

Samuel was captured by General Forrest at Brices' Crossroads in June 1864. Sent to Andersonville and survived. Mustered out May 1965.

William died (1864) of smallpox in Memphis Tennesse at the age of 16. He was the nephew of the company commander Capt.William Roark and is buried in the Memphis National cemetery.

John, brother to Aquilla Eubanks of 29th Infantry, Co G. John died 15 Jan 1863 in Memphis, TN.

Robert and his 2 brothers, William and Joseph Hahs, fought at Brice's Crossroads, June, 1864. All 3 engaged. Joseph was shot in thigh next morning in retreat and rearguard fighting at Ripley. He was captured, leg amputated and died in Mobile. Robert and William survived fighting and war.

Isaac is my great-great grandfather. He enlisted as a private at Vienna Illinois on 13 August 1862. He was 20 years old. He was mustered out on 10 September 1865. His records show that he served with distinguished service to the Union Army and was a POW at Andersonville prison. I am researching how he came to be taken prisoner and where that happened.
