My French side was in Canada in the 1600's and it looks that some of the Pellerin's travelled to New Orleans. His brother Don Louis Pellerin served in the same regiment, company and same rank.

Co. E known as the' Franklin Sharpshooters' later became the 1st Louisiana Brigade under Stonewall Jacksons army in the Shenandoah.Served 1861-1865. rank in 2nd Lt. rank out 1st. Robert Lived in Floyd,Carroll parish ward 6. Unit made up mostly from Franklin parish. Wounded at Port Republic and Sharpesburg the latter severely. Robert also had three other brothers that enlisted and served, Capt. Field Montgomery 14th Louisiana Infantry Co. I. (Tiger Bayou Rifles). Private John Montgomery 12th Missouri Cavalry and Cpl. Daniel Montgomery 11th Tennessee Infantry Co. H killed in battle at Jonesboro,Ga. Company E participated at Bull Run, Gettysburg ( Cemetery Hill ) Port Royal, Fredricksburg, Newtown, Middletown, Winchester, Cross Keys, Port Republic, Cold Harbor, White Oak Swamp, Malvern Hill, Chantilly, Harpers Ferry, and Sharpsburg, sometimes called Antietam and a number of smaller engagements. Was present at Appomattox Courthouse in 1865. Commanded by Col. J.B. Kelly and then by Col. Francis T. Not a relative, I simply honor his service. Charles was a free-born Mulatto. Enlisted June 23, 1861. Captured in Virginia, May 3, 1863. He remained in Federal custody for about two weeks before being exchanged to rejoin his unit. At the Battle of Gettysburg, on July 2, 1863, he received a severe wound to the left arm, and was captured. Exchanged and furloughed home, he was again shot in his right arm during a personal confrontation, resulting in it's amputation. He was discharged May 9, 1865. Received a pension following the war.

John was born in Muscogee, Georgia 17 Oct 1843. He has 24 items in his archival file. Enlisted at Minden, Louisiana on 15 Mar 1862 by Capt. Sims for 3 years or the war. The men of Co. G were known as the {Minden Blues]. His initial enlistment was into Capt. John H Webbs Co. La. Vols. His first fight was at Winchester, 25 May 1862 he fought in 9 other major battles including Gains Mill, Bristo Station, 1st and 2nd Manassas, Chantilly, Sharpsburg, and was wounded near Fredericksburg 4 May 1863. Shot in the shoulder and given a 60-day wounded leave. It was extended and he did not return to his unit until 1 Nov 1864. He was then in the battles of Fisher Hill; Belle Grove, and his last major fight was at Hatcher Run on 6 Feb 1865. He died 12 Sept 1924 at Shreveport, La. This Regiment fielded 1,321 men of which 252 were killed on the field or died of their wounds. 171 died of disease and 2 were murdered. He was the father-in-Law of my cousin. He served with Hay's Brigade, Ewell's Division, Johnsons Command, Army of Northern Virginia.

Private Davis died a prisoner of war on November 14, 1863 at Fort Delaware, Delaware.

William was 26 when enlisted on 23 June 1861 at Camp Moore La. Enlisted by Lieut. Devereux for 12 months in Capt J Langdon's Co. Louisiana Vols'. [Minden Blues] He re enlisted 18 Feb 1862 at Camp Carondelet Va. He was wounded at the battle of Port Republic on 9 June 1862 and died of his wounds on the 11th. His grave is unknown. He was the husband of my 5th cousin 4 x removed. Left a wife and 3 small children. Deo Vindice
