10th Missouri Cavalry

He enlisted June 17 1861 at Jefferson City, Missouri as a private in Company B, Cole County Regiment of the Missouri Home Guards. He mustered out with his company October 1, 1861. He enlisted again, on August 23, 1862 as a sergeant in Company I, 42nd Regiment of Missouri Militia. He was transferred to the Tenth Missouri Cavalry October 6, 1862. He enlisted a third time, April 6 1864, was called to active duty September 30 of that year, in Company E, 42nd Missouri Militia. Promoted to Captain and Adjutant and transferred to Field and Staff.

I have discharge papers from my great grandfathers service in the 10th Calvary Volunteer Army in Missouri.

Enlisted 1862 in Ft. Smith, AR. Green's Brigade (Marmaduke). He attended an Ex-Confederates Reunion in Sedalia, Missouri in 1882.
