11th Missouri Infantry

Drafted - Age 28 5 feet 8 1/2 Tall Completion: fair, Eyes grey, Hair light. Died of Chronic Diarrhea, Selma Alabama July 8, 1865

Private Alexander was born in 1847 and died in 1933 in Sangamon County, Illinois.

Charles W. Pace Enlisted as a private at the beginning of the Civil War. He was promoted to Captain of Company C, which position he held to the close of the war.

immigrated from Germany in 1849 or 1850, livied in Gasconade County, Missouri from 1860 thru 1880 then moved to Kansas

Albert was born 30 Jan 1846 on his families farn in Brown County Ill. His parents were Elisha Gillette Adams and Matilda Henry Adams one of 13 children. He enlisted 28 March 1864 and mustered in 29 April 1864 in St Louis MO. He was wounded in the leg during the battle of Nashville on Dec. 16 1864. He died at the field hospital of this wound on the 10th of Jan 1865, 20 days before his 19th Birthday. He is now buried in the Nashville National Cemetery in Section H grave #9358 after the people of Nashville didn't want these Union Soldiers buried in their Cemetery they dug them up and transported them to a Cemetery on the other side of the tracks which later became the National Cemetery.

George Camp Adams was born 27th Dec 1835 on the Family farm in Brown County Ill. one of 13 children. His parents were Elisha Gillette Adams and Matilda Henry Adams. His brother Albert served in this same unit. His Brother Pery served in the 18th Mo Inf Co G. George was home on sick leave when he died on the 28th Dec 1865 age 30 years 1 day. He is buried in the LaVina Henry Cemetary in Brown County Ill. overlooking the Ill. River.

His father was from Culpeper, Virginia, but moved to Tennessee, where James was born in 1822. The family moved to Missouri prior to 1840. After the war, James moved to Nebraska.

Silas was born in Sept of 1831 in Little Creek, Sussex County Delaware The son of James H. Spicer and wife Persilla Ralph Spicer. He was married and lived in McDonough County Ill. when he enlisted. His wife was Catherine Kerby Spicer and their children were Addie, Willis, Harry, Lewis, James & Fred. Silas died in 1917 & is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge, Caldwell County MO.

Col LC Pace "The Colonel was a Virginian by birth, having been born in Scott County on June 12, 1835. He early entered the ministry and for a number of years held pulpits in the Methodist church. When the war broke out in 1861--he enlisted as chaplain of the Eleventh Missouri Cavalry, but during the long years of struggle he doffed his clerics and became a fighting man…” Col. Pace died on June 19, 1925 (seven days past his 90th birthday), at his son's home in Montana. He was buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska. (section 11 lot 2564-sp9)
