29th Missouri Infantry

I am looking for as much information as possible on my relative as well as the 29th Missouri. I have several original letters or at least photocopies of them, as the originals are in the National Archives. There are also several letters in the Missouri Historical Society. I also have a picture of him in uniform from the war. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am a great-great grandson of Lt. Widdicombe. I would be very interested in a photo of him, if any exists, or even of others in the unit; we have none.

I found the certificate of honorable service in a book along with other honorable discharge papers.

I am the great grandson of Henry Kistner. He was wounded Nov 22, 1863 at Taylor's Ridge near Missionary Ridge and Ringgold Gap GA. Finished the war in a Cape Girardeau hospital. He farmed at Egypt Mills, near Cape Girardeau Mo. Born 1840 Died 1932 at age of 92. Family immigrated from Hannover Germany when he was approx 3 years old.

William Neitzert My GG grandfather

Charles Jules Oscar Roussel was in Co G. 29th Missouri INF USA He was wounded shot in the knee at Battle of Ringold Gap, GA Sept.27,1863. He died on July 10,1879 in IL. He is buried in Clear Creek Lndg, Alexander, Illinois.

I have found quite a bit (64 Pages) on my GGG Grandfather, including his fight to get his Civil War pension.

No family notes have been added.

Discharged on Disability 1862. Died in December 1865.

Died of remittent fever 9 Jan 1863 on board the Steamer L.M. Kennett at Arkansas Post, Arkansas

Died 17 Feb 1863 at Youngs Point, LA

John Carl Neitzert & John William Neitzert are brothers. They come from Germany 1847 John William Neitzert is my Great,Great Grandfather. Cark Neitzert died on R.C. Wood General Hospital Steame, Sept. 13, 1863 of Typhoia fever.
