D, 32 Reg't N.C. Infantry. Detailed to get boards Nov. 6 & returned to regular duty Dec. 5, 1862 by order of Col. Brabble. Present for duty until sick and captured on July 3, 1863 at Gettysburg. P.O.W. at Fort Delaware on July 12, 1863. Transferred to Point Lookout, Md., October 18, 1863. Exchanged Feb. 18, 1865.

David Bowman, born 1828, Son of Joseph and Mary Bowman, lived in Alexander County NC. Brother of Jacob Bowman, my GGGrandfather. Enlisted Feb 25, 1863 into Co E 32nd NC Infantry. Wounded at Spotsylvania, died from infection due to leg being amputated.

Jacob Bowman born Oct 9, 1825, oldest son, married Regina Salena Baker, lived in Alexander County at time of the war. Enlisted on Dec 8, 1863. Captured at Spotsylvania Courthouse May 10, 1864. Taken to Maryland and then imprisoned at Elmira Prison, Elmira NY. Transferred to Venus Point, Savannah River, Ga on November 15, 1864 in a prisoner exchange. After the war, Jacob and Regina had 7 children. William Pierce Bowman (1857)was my great grandfather. Others in family were S.C. Bowman (1859) Thomas Bowman (1862) prior to enlistment. Phillip Andrew Bowman (1866) Titus Bowman (1869) Harriet Bowman (1873) and Susan Bowman (1875). My Grandfather, Albert Gavon Bowman was the oldest of Pierce's children. Jacob had 5 brothers in NC 32nd Infantry. 1 brother )Polycarp) in NC 12th Infantry. 1 brother (Joshua Bowman)in NC 37th infantry. Wounded at Gettysburg, killed at battle of Petersburg. Brothers in the 32nd were: Abel Jackson Bowman Co K 32nd Infantry, killed at Gettysburg July 15, 1863. Jonas Bowman, enlisted Co D 32nd killed at Spotsylvania 5/10/64 David Bowman Co E 32nd wounded while overrun in the Muleshoe salient on 5/10/64. Leg amputated and died from infection. Simon Peter Bowman Co E 32nd died from disease 11/17/65 Joseph Lafayette Co E 32nd died 12/6/61, cause unkown.

' On P.O.W. roll ' Elmira New York 10-11-64 Exchanged 10-29-64 Father of Walter & Jefferson Bradburn the husbands of Mary & Cynthia Land sisters of my gr grandfather James Linville Land. Their father, ( my gr,gr,grandfather,) David Land served in the 13th N.C.Inf.

20-year-old Abel J. Cansler enlisted in Catawba County as a corporal in August 1861. He was captured at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House on or about 10 May 1864. Sent to Elmira, New York until the end of the war. Moved to Meridian, Mississippi after the war.

Hamilton, Miles resided in Catawba County, NC where he enlisted on 8-14-1861 at the age of 28. Records show his occupation as a carpenter. He is detailed to build flat boats year not given. Detailed in December of 1862 to build winter quarters. Present and accounted for until wounded in the hip at Gettysburg on July 1-2, 1863. Died from wounds on 7-2-1863. Buried on the battlefield. Remains were moved to Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.

Fish, Bryson born in Catawba County, NC where he resided as a blacksmith prior to the war. He was conscripted into service on April 13, 1863 at Camp Holmes for the war. Present and acoounted for until discharged on April 19, 1864 by reason of chronic rheumatism, and effects of typhoid fever. Re-enlisted on January 5, 1865 in Co. B McLean's Batttlion Light Duty Men. He was born in 1836 and died in 1912 and is buried at New Hope Methodist Church in Lowesville, NC.

Husband of Sarah Carlton, daughter of Pickens Carlton. Born abr August 1846 On May 27,1864 Thomas enlisted in the Confederate 8th Battalion North Carolina Junior Reserves. On Sept 5,1864 he ' transferred to regular service ' Co.G 32nd N.C.Inf.' absent sick ' Nov-Dec 1864 ' issued clothing ' Dec.3,1864 ' on the rolls ' till 'paroled at Appomattox Virginia April 9,1865.'

This was my Great Grandfather who was wounded in the Battle of 'Sayler's Creek' (AKA: Sailor's Creek/Hillsman Farm/Lockett Farm) by a shot to the head from a mini-ball on April 6, 1865. I am told he was present at the surrender at Appomatox, and walked home from there over the next two weeks to Buies Creek, NC in Harnett County. Transferred from Company H, 12th Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 22 July 1862. Resigned on 1 September 1862.

Enlisted as a Private on 2 March 1864. Captured near Mine Run, VA on 10 May 1864. Confined at Point Lookout, MD on 18 May 1864. Transferred to Elmira Prison on 3 August 1864. Died of chronic diarrhea as a POW on 6 April 1865 at Elmira, NY. Buried at Woodlawn National Cemetery.

May have also served in Thomas'North Carolina Legion. On 7/22/1862 he transferred into 'H' Co. NC 32nd Infantry

1842-1865 Enlisted in Company M, 15th North Carolina Infantry Regiment, entire company was transferred to become Company I of the 32nd North Carolina Infantry on 4 July 1862. He was captured during the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House on 10 May 1864. He died of pneumonia while imprisoned in Elmira, NY on 6 March 1865.

Transferred from Company L, 15th Infantry Regiment North Carolina on 4 July 1862. Promoted to 5th Sergeant on 15 October 1862. Employed substitute on 17 October 1862.
