He was my Great Grandfather. He resided in S.W. Arkansas, but traveled to Illinois to enlist as a Union soldier. This was because of his anti-slavery belief & because his brother, Reverend James Duggan, a Catholic Bishop was in Illinois & a strong activist against slavery.
