My Great-Grandfather John F. Hoffman was born December 19, 1843 in Shilo Valley, St. Clair County, Illinois. He was mustered in April 11, 1864 in Springfield,IL, appointed to Corporal January 10, 1865, and mustered out September 9, 1865 in Paducah, KY. He married Louisa Brockmeyer in 1866 in Washington County, IL. He lived most his adult life in Washington County, IL, but moved around 1910 to St. Cloud, Florida. He died July 23, 1932 and was buried at Mt. Peace Cemetery in St. Cloud.
