Hugh McIlwain is buried at Chalmette National Cemetery in New Orleans, LA. I believe he came from Cumberland County, IL. His name along with other Illinois names is listed in the Illinois monument at Vicksburg, MS

Mr. Kingery was born in 1845 in what is now known as Jewett, Illinois. He was the son of David and Mary Ann Kingery. He died of a backset of measles while he was in the service on May 10, 1864 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was survived by his mother and his three brothers. *Fulton Kingery is my Second Cousin, Five Times Removed*

John Kingery was born on October 4, 1840 in what is now Jewett, Illinois. He was the son of David and Mary Kingery. John Kingery, when the war of the rebellion broke out, was a young man and believing it to be his duty to defend the old flag, on the 22nd day of August, 1862, volunteered for three years or during the war. He was mustered into the service September 8th, 1862, and was mustered out July 29th, 1865. He was a member of Co. D, 97th Reg. III Vol. Inft. He was with Sherman in that memorable march to the sea and during the time he was in the service he participated in some of the fiercest and bloodiest conflicts of that war and yet he came through it all without a scratch or wound, but with his constitutional powers shattered so that he never was a healthy man. In a few years the symptoms of that disease of which he died--consumption--began to develop. At the close of the Civil War, he, like many others, settled down to civil life and engaged in the tilling of the soil and stock raising, which business he continued as long as he was able to do anything. On the 8th of March, 1867, he was married to Miss Lena A. Mumper and to this union was born 13 children, 8 sons and5 daughters, 4 of these dying in infancy. Two of them--Charles and Eva--died just as they were budding into man and womanhood. His companion of life died May 22nd, 1892, leaving a babe just six weeks old, together with small children, but Mr. Kingery, with a father's love, and with that indomitable perseverance for which he was noted, kept those children all together and had the happy satisfaction of seeing them all grow to man and womanhood under his watchful care before his death, on August 25th, 1907. *John Kingery is my Second Cousin, Five Times Removed*

William Hutson died of illness at Young's Point, Louisiana 20 February, 1863.

IL 97th Infantry. 31 years old, 5' 9, DARK HAIR, HAZEL EYES, DARK COMPLEXION, MARRIED, OCCUPATION FARMER, On 1/10/1865 he transferred into Veteran Reserve Corps. Mustered out at Washington, D.C. JUN 26, 1865. Post-war Lawyer and Judge. Member of GAR Post # 158 (Rose Hill) in Rose Hill, Illinois. Died 7/28/1927 in Jasper County, Illinois.
