[3 x great granduncle] Private, enlisted 8 Feb 1864, mustered in 18 Feb 1864, died of disease 15 May 1865 at Atlanda, GA, buried Marietta National Cemetery.

Enlisted as a Private on 30 January 1864 at the age of 15. Killed on 25 October 1864 at Osage, MO.

(Veteran) Residence Fulton, Mo., nativity Missouri. Born 20 Dec 1846. Enlisted as a Private on 1 Aug 1862 at the age of 16. Re-enlisted and re-mustered 1 Feb 1864. Promoted to Full Bugler on 1 Mar 1864. Wounded severely 7 Jun 1864, near Ripley, Miss. Mustered Out Company E, 3rd Cavalry Regiment Iowa on 9 Aug 1865 at Atlanta, GA. Married Lucretia Ann Gabriel 29 Sep 1876 in Cooke, TX. Moved to Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1889 where he was a pioneer of what is now Oklahoma. He is registered as a First Family of the Twin Territories (Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory). Fathered four children. He was a Mason. As an ordained Minister Wesley preached to the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory. He was also a successful farmer. Wesley died 10 Jun 1930 in Oklahoma City, OK. There is a biography about him in 'A History of the State of Oklahoma, 1908, Vol. 1.'

He was captured at White Station, TN 12-4-1864 while on patrol. He was imprisoned in Andersonville prison. Was paroled at Jacksonville, FL Apr. 29, 1865.
