Mustered in on Sept. 28, 1864. Mustered out on June 8, 1865 at Montgomery, AL. Compiled Service Records indicates him present with Company A from November 1864 to June 1865. During that time the 32nd Iowa Infantry was at the Battle of Nashville and Siege at Ft. Blakely.

Mustered in on Aug 13, 1862 at Dubuque, IA for 3 years of service. Mustered out on Aug. 24, 1865 at Clinton, IA. Received a gunshot wound to his left leg at the Battle of Pleasant Hill, LA on April 9, 1864.

Mustered in on March 24, 1864. Transferred to Company E, 8th Iowa Infantry on July 28, 1865.

Was killed 6-6-64 at the battle of Lake Chicot, Arkansas. Enlisted at age 28, born in new york, on 8-21-62. Promoted 12-21-63 to Corporal.

A GAR marker is placed next to his mothers headstone in Linwood Cemetery in Boone, Iowa uncertain if this marks his burial place.

Ovid Hare, 3rd Sergt, Co. E, 32nd IA Inf., enlisted 15 Aug 1862, age 32, New Hartford, IA.

Hanson H. Harlan was a Private in Company E, 32nd Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Infantry. He mustered into service on August 15, 1862. At that time his residence was given as Hardin County, Iowa and his age was given as 33 years old. He was mustered out of the army on August 24, 1865 at Clinton, IA. On December 30, 1872 Narcissa applied for both a Widow’s Pension and a Minor Child Pension. Both were granted.

Robert L. Olmstead, enlisted 20 Aug 1862, Co. E, 32 IA Inf. Pvt, age 33, died of wounds at Pleasant Hill, LA on 20 Apr 1864.

His company commander was Captain Rufus S. Benson April, 1864: Suffered heatstroke during march at Alexander, LA. Aug 19th-Nov 17th, 1864: Hospitilized for jaundice at Washington General Hospital, Memphis, TN. Jan 12th-Jun 18th, 1865: Hospitalized for diarrhea at 15th General Hospital, Nashville, TN. Jul 26th, 1865: Transfered to Co. K, 8th Iowa Infantry. Apr 20th, 1866: Mustered out of service at Selma, Alabama. After Civil War Service moved to Clay Co. AR with his wife and children.

Joseph was killed in the Battle of Pleasant Hill

Lived in Humboldt County, Iowa. Enlisted on January 4, 1864 and was discharged for disability, June 21, 1865, in Montgomery, Alabama. He is buried in Union Cemetery, Humboldt, Iowa.

Jacob received permission to resign from the 32nd and take a commission as 2LT in the 63rd US Colored Infantry. He commanded Companies K and then B. Though he was white, his name is enshrined on the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington, DC.

Jonas enlisted at age 37 on Aug 12, 1862 as a Corporal and was eventually promoted to 1st sergeant on March 5 1865. He had prior military service with the Swedish army before coming to the United States.
