G. Campbell b. 25 Oct 1843 Overton Co, TN. d. 22 Mar 1926 Westville, Adair Co, OK. Buried in New Hope Cemetery in Stilwell, Adair Co, OK. Married twice, 1st wife on 30 May 1865 Allen Co, KY to Mary Frances (Glover) Hatler and they had 8 children. She died 14 Feb 1888 in Cole Co, MO. Eight months later G. Campbell married his 2nd wife Louisa Jane Whitehead 25 OCt 1888 in MO and they had 10 children together. If anyone would like more info on G. Henry (Bud) Huntsman was present from Jan. 1862 till Jan, 2nd 1863 when he was wounded at Stones River. He was dischardged in April 1863 with 50% disability. He Lived in Scottsville, KY. Born 1846- death 1908

C 9th KY in 1861 serving 3 Yr's and 6 Mo's MUSTERED OUT DEC. 16, 1864 Member ALEX RAGON POST No. 265 S.A.R AT ELIZABETHTOWN ILL' two diffrent stones one military one personal Born Aug. 28, 1840 in KY. died Aug 25, 1908 in Hardin county IL tombstone has bible on it and REV E. S. Tinsley believe he was a minister wounded but don't have service record.

Enlisted at the age of 15 at Columbia, KY. Thomas was wounded in the battle of Stones River at Murfreesboro, TN on 2 Jan 1863. Discharged Dec 1864

William B O Jackson mustered in with his regiment at Camp Boyle KY on 20 November 1861. He contracted pneumonia and died on 20 January 1862. He was one of 250 enlisted soldiers that the 9th lost to disease. He was 40 years old at the time of his death. William was survived by his wife Sarah, sons Thomas, Samuel and James, and by two daughters, Jemima and Nancy. Sarah received a civil war pension. The Jackson family farm was located near Thompkinsville, KY.

James Miller Tallman was a resident of Jackson and Clay Counties from the 1840s until at least 1891, when he is shown as a Male Voter in District 2 of Clay. In the 1890 Veterans Schedule of Districts 1-3 of Clay, he is shown to have served as a Private in Company D of the Kentucky 9th Infantry Regiment from 16-Sep-1861 until 15-May-1863 when he was wounded from shot. It is also noteworthy that Thomas Marion Bean from Jackson County also served in Company D of the Kentucky 9th Infantry Regiment during this same timeframe.

Whitley, Exum (Axum): Age 40. Enrolled October 1, 1861 in Monroe County, KY for 3 years. Muster-in as a private in Capt. Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. December 31, 1861 listed as sick. January 1862 - September 1863 listed as present. September 19, 1863 Captured at Chickamauga, GA. September 29, 1863 Prisoner of War in Richmond, VA. October 20, 1863 admitted to Hospital in Richmond, VA. November 2, 1863 returned to prison. Died ?, Burial unknown.

Whitley, James M.: Age 42. Enrolled October 1, 1861 in Monroe County, KY for 3 years. Muster-in as a private in Capt. Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. December 31, 1861 Hospital Nurse for 34 days. January 1863 - July 1864 on detached service in Pioneer Corps. March - April 1863 - stationed in Murfreesboro, TN. May - June 1863 stationed on the banks of Elk River, TN. September - October 1863 stationed in Chattanooga, TN. November 1863 - December 1864 Company H, 3rd Battalion, Pioneer Brigade. Muster-out as a private December 15, 1864 in Louisville, KY. Died February 15, 1884, buried in Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Whitley, Jefferson Cannon: Age 23. Enrolled September 15 in Monroe County, KY for 3 years. Muster-in as a Corporal in Capt. Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. January 2, 1863 wounded at the battle of Stones River, TN. (shot in the right knee). February 28, 1863 discharged as 1st Corporal in Louisville, KY on surgeon‘s certificate. Died April 12, 1925, Buried in the Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

November 1863 - December 1864 Company H, 3rd Battalion, Pioneer Brigade. July - August 1864 - on detached service (Blacksmith) in Chattanooga, TN. Muster-out as a private December 15, 1864 in Louisville, KY. Died June 15, 1889, Buried in the Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, TN. Military headstone.

Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. March 1862 sent home (from hospital in Columbia, KY) on sick leave. October 1863 - October 1864 Nurse in hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Discharged for disability as a private on December 10, 1864. Died April 6, 1904, Buried in the Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, TN.

Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. December 31, 1861 Hospital Nurse & cook for 37 days. January - February 1863 in hospital at Murfreesboro. April 10, 1863 in hospital in Nashville, TN. Discharged as a private at Nashville, TN on May 22, 1863 on surgeon‘s certificate. Died ?, Buried in the Mill Creek Church Cemetery, Tompkinsville, KY. Military headstone.

Whitley, Wiley A.: Age 31. Enrolled September 15 in Monroe County, KY for 3 years. Muster-in as a 1st Lieutenant in Capt. Lafayette Harlin’s Company (D), 9 Regiment KY Infantry on Nov. 26, 1861 in Adair County, KY. Resigned April 19, 1862. (became ill after battle of Shilo, TN) Rejoined in the 8th Tennessee Infantry as a wagon master until the end of the war. Died February 10, 1905, Buried in the Whitley Cemetery, Red Boiling Springs, TN. Military headstone.

Samuel P. Hulse Left Washington Co., TN about 1857. He was listed at various times as a brickmason, a blacksmith, and a itinerant preacher. Fought for the Union in the Civil War and received a pension. His brother,Franklin was a Confederate soldier in the 63rd Tenn. Inf. Company E Soldier's Rank_In Pvt. Organized at Camp Boyle, Adair County, Ky., and mustered in November 20, 1861 Soldier's Rank_Out Pvt. Mustered out December 15, 1864 at Louisville, Kentucky. Alternate Name Samuel P./Hulce

His aunt in East Tennessee, Mary Jobe Cox, was my maternal gr,gr,gr,gr,grandmother. Rufus Jobe : Regiment Name 9 Kentucky Infantry. Side Union Company E Soldier's Rank_In Pvt. 1861 -Sept 24; Rufus joined Co E, 9th KY Inf in Barren Co, KY for 3 years. 1863 -Sept 19; Wounded in Battle at Chickamauga, Ga. 1864 -Jan 17; Rufus died from a wound to the left foot received at Chickamauga, Ga. on Sept 19, 1863. Burial: Union Cemetery, Nobob, Barren Co, KY. ( Research by Ann Jobe Brown. )

Jacob Warren Robinson, was the son of Wm Robinson and Mary Warren of Monroe co., KY. Wm was the son of Jacob Robinson (1773-1840) (m Elizabeth Wheelock, 1794, Territory South of the Ohio River). Jacob married Frances E. (sometimes given as 'Agnes') Rexroad/Rexrode (her mother was named Agnes) and for a time lived in Young America, IL. They later moved and settled in or near Seneca, KS. I have a photo of the husband and wife. Sons of Jacob W. include Homer Warren, and William, also a dau. Mary (Lyons). Cousin against cousin..... the 9th at Vicksburg... Jacob had 5 first cousins on the other side at Vicksburg (Co. B, 43rd Tenn.)

KY 9th Infantry He was the son of George Washington Proffitt and Margaret Wheelock. Margaret was a sister to my ancestor/relative, William K. Wheelock. Mustered out at Louisville, Ky. 12-15- 1864. Other Information: died 9/16/1907 After the War he lived in Danville, IL
