Obadiah Milam Company A 11 Kentucky Infantry died 1908 Discharged 21 Jun 62 at Nashville, TN due to disability. Discharge certificate states disability due to phthisis (tuberculosis). At discharge was 5 ft 9 in, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair, farmer and born in Warren Co, KY.

During the Regiment''s withdrawl in the face of Breckenridge''s attack at Stone''s River (Jan. 2, 1863), Cpl. Day leaped into the river landing ''wrong'' and injuring his back. This apparently caused him serious discomfort for it appears that a year later he was very nearly declared unfit for duty because of it. However, he stuck in there and was mustered out with the rest of his unit on December 16, 1864.

Notley Conn Flowers was my maternal great-grandfather. He was inducted into the 11th. Infantry in Butler County Kentucky. His hometown was Logansport, Rockester, and Woodbury, Ky. He entered as a private and was honorably discharged as a first Sargent in the 11th.

Enlisted as a Private on 14 September 1861 Enlisted in Company D, 11th Infantry Regiment Kentucky on 09 December 1861. Died Company D, 11th Infantry Regiment Kentucky on 15 December 1861 in Calhoun, KY

Mustered in at Rochester, KY on 17 October 1861 age 22 years. Wounded at Loudon, TN on 14 November 1863. Promoted to 5th Sergeant on 1 May 1864. Discharged at Bowling Green, KY on 14 December 1864. Fought at battles of Shiloh, Stones River, Siege of Knoxville and Sherman's Georgia Campaign.

Was my great great grandfather. Was known to have said while he was hiding behind a tree, Come out and fight like men you yellow-bellied s.o.b.'s all the while hiding behind his tree.

Davenport, Robert Thaddeus Constantine Sebastian. Private, 'I' Company, 11th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Nineteen years old, unmarried, who was still living and working on his father’s farm in 1861. Joined on 17 Oct 61 at Camp Calloway (Hartford), Kentucky. Mustered in on 9 December 1861 at Camp Calhoun (Calhoun), Kentucky. No info as to whether he was ever wounded during the war. Promoted to Corporal sometime in July 1864. Discharged 14 December 1864 at Bowling Green, Kentucky. Last name is sometimes spelled Devenport.

Thirty three years old when he was mustered in on 9 Dec 1961 as a corporal. He was a farmer in Ohio County, Kentucky and married with two children. He was apparently never wounded during the war but did contact measles and dysentery so bad that he was sick in the hospital between Jan and Apr 1862 and sent home on furlough to recuperate during the first week in May. He returned to ranks on 1 Aug 1862. He was taken out of the field, administratively reduced to private and assigned as a wood chopper for the remainder of the war. He was mustered out of service on 16 December 1864.
