Notes: (Emigrate in USA, he undertook in the troops of the Union (Civil War) in Louisa, Kentucky) for a period of three years.) Incorporated on November 16, 1861 he joined the Springfield camps then was assigned to 22 ° infantry regiment Kentucky company A, Camp Swigert, awarded county, Kentucky, on January 10, 1862.
He died of dysentery on July 14, 1864 in New Orleans.
His name was spelled Louis COMMERSOUR (Louis in french = Ludwig in german) on the role of commitment.
His father Ludwig Cammisar born the August.12 , 1811 enlisted in the same regiment January 20, 1862, but commitment Ludwig Caummisar.

Dec. 15, 1862:
After conducting a raid in Carter County and capturing several Confederates, Hiram Huff, James Ross, James Minten Ball, Washington Boggs and a shelton along several other men are overtaken by CSA Captain Marcum at Sink Roberts' farm on Cat Fork. Huff, Ball, Ross and Shelton are taken to the head of Wells Branch, by way of Dry Fork to Bruin, and shot to death. Their bodies are placed in a shallow mass grave and covered with flat rocks.I an not sure which shelton James or Joseph however it appears that one of them is the shelton which was killed near bruin.

John W. Boyle was killed in the Civil War at Chickasaw Bluff, Vicksburg, Mississippi on 5 Feb 1863. He was a private in C company. He trained at Camp Swigert in Greenup County, Ky and enrolled and mustered out of Louisa, Ky. John Boyle enlisted on December 2, 1861, and was mustered into Federal service on January 10, 1862, in Louisa, Kentucky. This regiment was engaged in the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou that took place on the outskirts of Vicksburg December 27-29, 1862. Private Boyle was wounded in this action and captured by the Confederates. He was placed in the Vicksburg City Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on February 5, 1863. In all probability he is interred in the Soldiers' Rest section of Vicksburg's Cedar Hill Cemetery.
According to John W. Boyle's service record, he went missing in action at Chicksaw Bluff, Dec. 29, 1862. The regiment received notice of his death at Vicksburg on April 2, 1863. On June 13, 1863, John W. Boyle's captain John F. Lacey stated: 'He was taken prisoner by the Enemy while in line of his duty near Vicksburg, Miss. on the 29th day of Dec. 1862 and remained a prisoner until his Death at Vicksburg February 5, 1863.'

Jeremiah enrolled in Company I of the 22nd Regement of Kentucky Volunteers on September 3, 1861. On July 14, 1862, he resigned his commission as a First Lieutenant citing 'a lack of harmony betwixt myself and the two other commissioned officers of my Company.' He was honorably discharged in October 1862. On Jeremiah's Declaration for Pension, filed on October 10, 1885 in Bath County, Kentucky, he is described as follows: height: 6 feet 1/2 inches; complexion: dark; hair: black; eyes: blue. Jeremiah married Mariah Gardner in Bourbon County, KY in 1852. I am a descendant of their daughter Sarah.
