Enlisted Aug.1861 from Ionia,Cty, Mich. Wounded at Malvern Hill,Va. on July 1,1862. Back in action with the 16th at Second Bull Run and all the following engagements of 1862/3. Was with the 16th in the defense of Little Round Top at Gettysburg on July 2,1863. Was sent to Park-Patterson Hospital in Baltimore after Gettysburg where he remained until his enlistment was up in 1864. He died in 1879 at 42 years old, never the same health wise from the war. He was my ggrandfather.
