'Ben' Singleton enlisted with 2 of his brothers at the outbreak of the Civil War, was wounded during the Seven Pines Campaign, sent to the Hospital in Richmond, recovered and rejoined his unit. He rose to the rank of Second Sergeant in late 1863 but was listed as AWOL and broken to the rank of Private upon his return. After the War he married and moved to Bridgeport Texas were he raised a family. He is buried in Boonesville Texas, the only known Confederate Veteran in the Cemetary

Joel T Echols entered as a Private and died in 1861 during the war as a 1st Sergeant.

My Great-Grandpa. Enlisted Panola County, Miss. Apr. 1861. Wounded at Gaines Mill and Fredericksburg. Possibly captured at Brandy Station June 9th and exchanged June 25th 1863. Documented captured at Weldon Railroad 21st August 1864 and exchanged 15 March 1865 at City Point/Aikens Landing.

My Great-Uncle. Older brother of James Malone Murphy. Enlisted Feb 1862 Panola County, Miss. Died June 1862 of measles/bronchitis at Chimoborzo Hospital, Richmond. Buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Richmond.

Sept and Oct,1862 at Hospital in Lynchburg . He is present at ? and 12/ 1862 , 1/9/1863, 6/30/1863 he is present. May and June 1864 he is absent withleave. July and Aug 1864 he is absent with wounds received May 6, 1864. He is present at Wayside Hospital or General Hospital No 9, Richmonds 5/8/1864 and CSA General Hospital Danville , Va 5/23/1865. He is present Sept- Dec 1864. He was captured by the 3d Brigade 24th Army in fort Whitworth , Va which was carried by assautlt 4/2/1865. He arrived at City Point, Va 4/5/1865 after capture at Petersburg and released 6/9/1865 after taking Oath of Allegance

John C. Welty served honorably in the Confederate army along with several sons.

This is not my relative, but this soldier is buried in a rural cemetery in Tate County, Ms.

Born 1832 GA, Died 1913 TX. Buried in my family plot.

For several months he was detailed out as a blacksmith. Fought at Spottsylvania where he was killed. Left a widow and three children. She never remarried.

Was wounded three times. Was surrendered at Appomattox.

Entered the service in Feb of 1862 as a substitute for his brother John Calvin Stovall. He was killed during the Battle of Spotsylvania.

Captured at Spotsylvania Courthouse and was imprisoned at Ft Delaware until the end of the war. After the war moved to Texas and became a physician.
