40th Missouri Infantry

Dudley was born July 26 1836 near Cobden Illinois.His parents were William D. and Nancy Parker. He served two enlistments in the union Army , first in the 54th Illinois infantry 1861-62 and second in the 40th Missouri Infantry 1864-65. He was discharged and returned to his wife Sophia Masten who died 1867. He remarried Laura Ellen Wilkerson then moved to Alabama eventually settling in Pratt City (Pratt Mines). He died at the home of his brother William H. Parker at New Castle in Jefferson Co Al 1895 and is buried at Fraternal cemetery in Pratt City Cem.,Jefferson Co Al.

Francis R. Hall would have been about age 50 when he joined the war from Iron County in 1862. I'm not positive that he is the 'Francis Hall' supposed to be in this unit. The Francis R. Hall I am looking for went off to war and was never heard from again. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Just found your site. Can''t remember where I got the above information, but if needed, will route it out. I''m Edward Bates Brouster''s grandson. My father, Edward Townsend Brouster/Brewster changed the spelling of his last name.
