43rd Missouri Infantry

Volunteered in the service of U.S. Regiment of Missouri Volunteers for one year on August 1, 1864. Was mustered out with Co A 43rd Missouri Infantry at Benton Barracks, St. Louis on June 30, 1865, by Adjunct General of Missouri, S. P. Simpson. He was honorably discharged from service.

William Harrison Moreland was born in Pennsylvania in 1811 and died in Missouri in 1865. He was married to Ruth Alford. William and Ruth are my GGG Grandparents. I have picture of William also if you would like to have that on file.

Born September 12, 1845 in Whiteside County, IL. Mustered into Union service and camp at St. Joseph, MO September 2, 1864. Reported absent sick from October 10-31, 1864 at Glasgow, inferring he was not captured/paroled during the recent battle. Mustered out June 30, 1865 at Benton Barracks, MO., age 19. John C. Abarr died June 19, 1936 in Redding IA.

In the early part of the Civil war John raised a comp[any of union soldiers in the township in which h e lived and enlisted in the union army becoming First Lieutenant of Company F 43, Missouri Volunteer Infantry, and served with his company until the close of the war and was mustered out at Benton Barracks, Missouri. b:10-25-1841 Rappahannock county, Virginia d:5-4-1933 Beeville, Texas, Buried Greenwood cemetery, Newton, Kansas
