122nd Ohio Infantry

Daily public Ledger., Maysville, KY, December 20, 1906, page 4 'Bishop Charles C. McCabe of the Methodist Episcopal Church died in the New York Hospital yesterday. Born at Athens Ohio, in 1836; entered the Ohio Conference in 1862; was Chaplain of the One Hundred and Twenty-second Ohio during the War, following which he became Pastor of a Church at Portsmouth. In 1896 he was made Bishop and took up his home at Germantown, Philadelphia.'

Musstered August 21,1862 at age of 25 at Camp Zanesville. Mustered out with Company June 26,1865. buried at Woodlawn Cemetery,Zanesville,Ohio

Was captured at Winchester,VA June 1863, sent to Libby Prison; paroled,went back to War. Was a policeman at Zanesville ohio after the War. Died in 1927 buried at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Drafted May 18, 1864 at Jefferson, Ohio. Injured in battle at Cedar Creek, Va, Oct. 19, 1864. Returned to duty Nov. 26, 1864.He was born August 5, 1827, and died July 8, 1902. He was a resident on Noble Co., Ohio, and is buried in Archer's Ridge Cemetery, Noble Co., Ohio.

Enlisted as a Private on 22 August 1862 at the age of 22. Enlisted in Company C, 122nd Infantry Regiment Ohio on 02 October 1862. POW on 13 June 1864 at Cold Harbor, VA. Returned on 26 April 1865. Died Company C, 122nd Infantry Regiment Ohio on 09 June 1865 in Morgan County, OH. Ansley was held captive at Andersonville Prison in Georgia.
