3rd Pennsylvania Infantry

Private Cane joined the 3rd PVI in May 1861 at Camp Curtin, Harrisburg PA as part of Lincoln's initial call for 75,000 troops. He serves out his 3 month enlistment and musters out on 29 July 1861. He later (4 October 1861) enlists in the 54th PVI. During his time in th 3rd PVI, he participate in th occupation of Martinsburg, Virginia (now Martinsburg, West Virginia)

My great grandfather. He was born 30 Jul 1835 and died 2 nov 1911. He is buried in the Lutheran Cemetery,Hollidaysburg.

Daniel was the husband of Ellen Taylor, sister of my great-great grandfather, George Washington Taylor, also of Co. C.

Alexander was the brother of my great-great grandfather, George Washington Taylor, also of Co. C. Alexander re-enlisted in December of 1861 in the 84th PA.

George was my great-great grandfather.

My great grandfathers brother. He was born 24 Sep 1839. His second assignment was as Corporal A Co. 84 Pa. Inf. His third assignment was as Cpl. B Co. 192 Pa. Inf.
