Looking for a photo of my Great-great Grandfather, Sergeant Hugh Smith of Company E, 84th PA VOL Infantry. I have his military records and pension records from the National Archives. He was wounded carrying the Colors on March 23, 1862 at Kernstown, Virginia.

Alexander was the brother of my great-great grandfather, George Washington Taylor, Co. C, 3rd PA Inf. Alexander also served in the 3rd (3-months service) before enlisting in the 84th.

Killed at Chancellorsville. William was the brother of my great-great grandfather, George Washington Taylor, Co. C, 3rd PA Inf.

Enlisted Oct. 20, 1862, Mount Holly, PA. Remarks: Farmer, Co. & Regt G-84 PA. Transfered by G.Q. 1864, to Co. H, 18 reg't Vet. Res. Corps. Mustered out July 25, 1865, Washington DC.

Joseph Swords captured at Chancellorsville, Va., May 3, 1863; transferred to Company K, 57th Regiment P. V., January 13, 1866. My Gr,gr, grandfather; am hoping someone might know how long he and other captives from Chancellorsville were held (and where) before they returned to the 84th.
