8th Tennessee Cavalry

Dec 5, 1830 – Aug 25, 1916. He had dark complexion, black hair, blue eyes, and stood 5’ 9”. He deserted and was captured in Harrison County Ky and taken to Military Prison Louisville Ky on Jun 20, 1864. He was paroled and discharged on Jun 26, 1864 and was ordered to stay north of the Ohio river for the rest of the war. He was also with the Seventh Bennett’s Battalion Cavalry. Became a Reverend after the war Parents: • John H Cassady son of Nancy Ann and James Cassady, daughter of Jane E. Reeves, daughter of Daniel James Melvin Sr. • Sara Brown 1797 - 1881
