William was born 2 Dec.1837 in Maury County Tennessee. The 1860 census finds him in District 11 Lawrence, Tenn at age 22. The Post Office is at Henryville. He has 3 cards in the 54th archival file. The 54th suffered a serious defeat and lost about 360 men killed or captured at the battle of Fort Donalson which ended in its surrender on 16 Feb 1862. Those that escaped were merged with the 48th Tenn. Infantry [ Nixon's] William has 21 items in that Regiment. William will continue in the 48th.

Francis Marion Wisdom was born in 1818 in Hardin County, Tennessee.
He would have been 42 years of age in 1861, so I don't know if he served in the Confederate Mililtary. He lived in Hickman County (possibly Centerville, TN) at the beginning of the Civil War.
I have found the name of Francis M. Wisdom on the roster of the 54th Tennessee Infantry, Company G and also the 55th Tennessee Infantry, but do not know if this is the Francis
Marion Wisdom that I am researching.
