Born about 1833 in King George Co. Virginia. 1850 Virginia Census, King George Co, page 209:William J. Dishman age 43, farmer; Elizabeth age 43; Fauntleroy age 22, waterman; Ann age 20; Mary age 20; James age 19; Robert age 18; William age 16; Lawrence age 15; all born in Virginia. 'He died in the Civil War in 1864 in Virginia. He was buried in Confederate Cemetery, Spotsylvania Courthouse, Spotsylvania County, Virginia. He appeared in the census of 1850 in the household of William Jackson Dishman at King George County, Virginia. He appeared in the census of 1 June 1860 at King George County, Virginia, as head of household which included Lucinda H. Sisson and Annabelle B. Dishman. He appeared in the census of 1850 in the household of William Jackson Dishman at King George County, Virginia. He was an informant for the death of Anna E. Simon Dorsey Edwards was the son of Richard Edwards and the grandson of Capt. Reverend William Edwards (Revolutionary War) He first enlisted with the 9th Virginia Cavalry and his company was sent to be part of the 15th Battalion in late 1862

My Great Great Grandfather William Henry Lee was in the 32sd Va. Infantry, his brother David T Lee was in the 15th Va. Calvary and his other brother, George T Lee was in the 30th Va. Infantry. All three went in and all three came home

Enlisted 14 Apr 1863 at Fredericksburg in C/15 Bn. age 18. Present dismounted by 30 Apr 1863 to at least 30 Jun 1863. Surrendered to U.S. gunboat at White Point Va. along with George Dodd and Andrew Cridling. Willing to take oath of allegiance 17 Aug 1863. Took oath 26 Sep 1863 as resident of King George Co., Va. Released and sent to Philadelphia 26 Sep 1863. PD: Hgt. 5/6, light hair, grey eyes, light complexion.

Wounded during Bristoe Campaign at Brandy Station, Virginia, 11th October 1863 , dislocated humerus from a morter shell, eventually succumbed to wounds January 1864 at Chimborazo Hospital in Richmond. Left behind a Wife named Rose and 3 children Born 29th February 1836

b. July 22, 1844 d. May 12, 1872; lived in the Sussex County, Virginia area; educated at the Blackwater Academy; son of Alexander T Clary; 1 of 3 sons to sign up (his 2 older brothers signed up with Co.D, 3rd Virginia Infantry); he was 18 years old when he signed with Co. F, 15th Virginia Cavalry (in Surry County); fought at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Culpepper Courthouse, Battle of Wilderness & Yellow Tavern......he was not 1 of 6 soldiers that surrendered from his regiment at Appomattox.He was married to Ella Holt in 1867; had no children.

George was my great grandfather. He lived and operated a store in Richmond until his death, 30 Oct 1912. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
